With many people reuniting with family and friends over the holiday season, the airport is preparing for one of the busiest weekends of the year at Toronto Pearson. The airport is expecting to see about 100,000 passengers travel through its doors on both Friday, December 21, and Saturday, December 22. On an average day, about 85,000 passengers travel through Toronto Pearson. “With so many people travelling through the airport at this time of year, the airport authority encourages passengers to take advantage of the many great services and concessions on hand at Toronto Pearson,” says Toby Lennox, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communications for the GTAA. The GTAA is pleased to offer services such as: Valet Parking on the Departures level of Terminal 1. For more information, click here. Airport Customers Assistance Program for passengers with disabilities. For more information, click here. Reduced Rate Parking Area found at 6135 Airport Road. For more information on parking, click here. The Airport LINK, which offers free transportation between Terminal 1, Terminal 3 and the Reduced Rate Parking Area. For more information on the train, click here. Special Christmas services are planned in the Terminal 1 Chapel for passengers and airport staff who will be at the airport during the holidays. These services are scheduled for December 21 at 12 noon, December 25 at 9 a.m., and January 1 at 11 a.m. All are welcome to join in these services. Passengers are reminded at this busy time of year to be aware of restrictions on liquids, gels and aerosols when packing their carry-on luggage. These items must be packed in 100 mL containers and fit into one clear and resealable plastic bag. A single 1 L bag is permitted per passenger. Passengers travelling with gifts in their carry-on luggage are also reminded to leave gifts unwrapped as packages may be subject to inspection at security checkpoints.
