Annual Public Meeting
The GTAA hosted its annual public meeting on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. The Board of Directors and GTAA senior staff were on hand to answer questions from the public and to present an overview of 2006 developments at the airport.

Steve Shaw, Vice President, Corporate Affairs first introduced Warren Hurren, Chairman of the Board, to review 2006 and to announce the appointment of two new Board members, Douglas Armstrong and Shaun Francis. Mr. Hurren also gave thanks to Benjamin Hutzel and Christine Hart who have completed their service to the Board of Directors.

Lloyd McCoomb, President and CEO also gave an overview of operations and accomplishments from the previous year. The major highlights of 2006 were the completion of the Airport Development Program and the record number of passengers (31 million) passing through the airport. Mr. McCoomb also gave thanks to Judy Fountain, Vice President, Finance, for her nine years of service and congratulated her on her pending retirement.

Following Ms. Fountain’s overview of the year end financial results, the floor was opened to questions from the public. Questions were asked that covered off the subjects of the Pickering airport lands, the airport LINK train, the environment and education of future airport leaders.
