Only Two Weeks Into 2008 and GTAA Welcomes One Millionth Passenger

Only two weeks into 2008 and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) has welcomed Toronto Pearson’s one millionth passenger.

On January 14, 2008, Dr. Weiping Huang of Ancaster arrived on Air Canada flight 032 from Beijing at 2:45 p.m. in Terminal 1. As the one millionth passenger of the year, Dr. Huang was given one free year of valet parking service at Toronto Pearson as well as 10 complimentary parking day passes. Dr. Huang will now be able to simply pull up to the curb at Terminal 1 and leave his vehicle with parking attendants.

“We are very excited to mark the occasion of our one million passenger so early in the year,” said Howard Bohan, Vice President, Operations and Customer Experience. “This shows just how busy Toronto Pearson is, and reinforces the value of having new and efficient facilities to deal with this incredible demand.”

Dr. Huang was very pleased to be Toronto Pearson’s 1 millionth passenger of the year. “I travel all over the world and I always enjoy coming back through Pearson. The new facilities here are wonderful and it’s a very enjoyable experience,” commented Dr. Huang on arrival at Terminal 1.

Many people on the flight were surprised to learn that 1 million passengers had already used Toronto Pearson so early in the year, but that shows clearly that Toronto Pearson is a thriving international airport that helps connect passengers and cargo with the world.

Mr. Bohan was pleased to be on hand to greet the flight and mark the occasion. “The GTAA is committed to working for passengers and making this airport one that all local residents can be proud of.”
