WestJet Announces Greater Service from Toronto Pearson

New WestJet services will give Toronto travellers even more options for Canadian destinations.

The new routes are scheduled to begin on May 18 and will include daily flights from Toronto to Regina, Saskatoon, Quebec City, and Abbotsford. The Quebec City announcement was made to coincide with the celebration of the Quebec captial's 400th anniversary, and marks WestJet's 27th destination within Canada, connecting WestJet to more than 25 million Canadians.

Bob Cummings, WestJet's Executive Vice-President Guest Experience and Marketing said, "2007 has been a tremendous year of growth at WestJet, and we would like to thank Canadians for their continued support. We are confident that Canadians will fill the additional seats we are adding to our network."

Cummings also commented on the multitude of connecting options that exist for passengers travelling aboard new and existing routes as the carrier operates 60 flights from Toronto each day.

WestJet will also increase the number of departures in its existing route network on May 18, with additional growth during the summer months. Toronto-Vancouver will be increased to eight daily flights, for example, with enhancements to other destinations such as Victoria, Edmonton, Charlottetown, Moncton, Saint John and Deer Lake.

“We are very pleased with WestJet’s expanded service offerings to and from Toronto. The addition of these new routes and frequencies will yield greater choice and convenience that will benefit Toronto travellers,” said John Sharp, GTAA Manager, Air Service Marketing.

Twice daily service between Toronto-Las Vegas, which commenced in October 2007, will continue throughout the summer. Service between Toronto-Los Angeles, which began in December 2007, will also continue daily throughout the summer. Service to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, will be extended to year-round departing once a week from Toronto.
