GTAA Toronto Pearson Runway Charity Run

On June 21, the GTAA hosted its first Runway Run. A thousand people met on Runway 06R-24L to run 5 km or walk 2 km with their friends and family. It was an unprecedented event in Canadian aviation, and a fabulous day for our community.

Along with the novelty of being so close to the airport’s operational runways, the runners/walkers raised funds for our community hospital. With other hospitals in the area, William Osler Health Centre’s Etobicoke General Hospital provides excellent service for the GTAA’s emergency response team. Their Experience the Evolution campaign will renew the facilities and resources available to Osler’s emergency care teams, and plans are underway for new sub-acute and paediatric areas. If you would still like to donate, please contact the William Osler Health Centre Foundation directly.

Thank you to our participants, our sponsors and the Running Room for making the Runway Run a great event!
