Maps & Charts
The following tools are intended to help communicate the impacts of aircraft activity on communities near Toronto Pearson, including a map showing the Toronto Pearson Airport Operating Area (AOA) and Noise Exposure Forecast (NEF) countours.
The GTAA has also developed a Jet Flight Path Movements Chart to illustrate the general flight patterns of the majority of Toronto Pearson’s jet aircraft operations.

Night Flight Restriction - Exemption Process
The GTAA may consider the following factors in its determination of whether to grant approval for a night flight excemption::

  • impact of the proposed operations on the overall GTAA Noise Management Program;
  • contribution of the proposed operations to the economic development of the Greater Toronto Area;
  • understanding that the proposed operations do not derogate from passenger or aircraft safety;
  • improved passenger or shipper convenience.

Transport Canada Enforcement
Transport Canada publishes the names of corporations violating the Aeronautics Act and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), including noise violations. The names of the offending corporations, along with a summary of the offence and the resulting sanctions, are published on the Transport Canada website.
