Coming Home

A JURIED EXHIBITION AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

September 13, 2008 to January 25, 2009
Airspace Gallery, Terminal 1

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The airport is a powerful signifier of coming home – it is a physical place, where you put your feet back on solid ground after a flight. It can be an emotional place where friends and family are reunited. It can also be bittersweet. Coming home can be a comforting return to the familiar, but the familiar may also be mundane, especially after returning from an exciting travel adventure. The idea of coming home can evoke many images beyond the airport – a house, a country, a person, a feeling. Artists are invited to submit work to the Greater Toronto Airports Authority’s juried exhibition that deals with the idea of coming home. The show runs from September 13, 2008 to January 25, 2009.
