Construction Control Office

The Construction Control Office oversees the implementation of design and technical requirements of all construction projects at Toronto Pearson for adherence to applicable codes and standards used at the airport. Design and document reviews, permit authorization, and construction inspection and acceptance processes are used to accomplish its administrative role to enforce relevant and mandatory standards as the basis for permitting acceptable design and assessing finished construction at the airport by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA).

The Construction Control Office (CCO) shall for all purposes be deemed to be an independent entity having such jurisdiction to complete its role and is not under the direct or indirect control of the GTAA in method, manner and requirements used to accomplish its mandate of ensuring quality assurance of airport construction. It is an interest of the GTAA to protect the health, safety, and welfare of people and property at TPIA.

The Airport Construction Code is the governing document of standards and regulations adopted by the GTAA for the airport facility comprising operational areas and structures controlled by the GTAA and land parcels and building spaces leased to its tenants. The CCO administers its role through this code to regulate design standards and control construction practices of permitted projects.

View the Airport Construction Code to reference the applicable regulations and standards for defining and determining the requirements for your project, which are described in the content and by a set of links to referenced documents.
